The first trailer for Warner Bros.’ remake of the cult hit Point Break has been released. Keanu Reeves is nowhere to be found, but the robberies look like they’ve been given an injection of adrenaline.

Point Break was a great movie, even if it gets hate from critics, it was interesting and had Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze surfing and robbing banks. In the remake’s first trailer, we see the same story with the heists turned up a few notches. Watch the first Point Break remake trailer below:

The first trailer feels a lot like a Fast & Furious sequel, and honestly could probably fit right in the storyline of the last sequel, but it looks like we’ll be seeing the same cop dilemma that we saw in the first Point Break, which is that the adrenaline-filled lives these guys live is very addictive.

The original film came out in 1991, and while it only holds a 68% on RottenTomatoes, it’s continued to have a massive following, with people still quoting Keanu Reeve’s hilarious and legendary line, “I am an FBI agent!” when asked if he can rob a bank by Patrick Swayze.

This film is unlikely to have the same impact that the original did, but it looks interesting enough, although a bit formulamatic. The remake stars Luke Bracey as Johnny Utah, Edgar Ramirez as Bodhi, as well as Ray Winstone, Teresa Palmer, and Delroy Lindo. The Point Break remake will hit theaters on December 25, 2015.

Do we have any fans of the original that plan on seeing the remake?
