A trailer for the “soccer dramedy” Playing for Keeps, starring Gerard Butler and Jessica Biel, has landed online.

Here’s the synopsis for the film, directed by Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness):

A former professional athlete with a weak past tries to redeem himself by coaching his son’s soccer team, only to find himself unable to resist when in scoring position with his players’ restless and gorgeous moms.

From first look, the film seems rather mediocre, but of course that trailer soundtrack didn’t help its cause. Muccino has some hits and misses on his resume, so it’s hard to tell from there. Anyway, what are your thoughts on the trailer? Do you think it shows promise?

Playing for Keeps co-stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Uma Thurman, Dennis Quaid, and Judy Greer with a release date of December 7 scheduled. Are you interested?
