A small remark made by composer Randy Newman over the weekend may reveal that Pixar is preparing their first musical.

Newman was speaking about working with Toy Story 3 helmer Lee Unkrich on the score for the beloved film when he let slip to Classic FM that the director’s next project is a musical.

“I think I’m a little trouble,” Newman said about his general relationship with directors, who he says he doesn’t like because they “don’t leave you alone.”

“He’s not going to use me to work with him again,” Newman said of Unkrich. “He’s doing a musical now.”

Listen for yourself below. The meat of this clip is Newman’s interesting remarks about how he was accidentally involved with Toy Story 3’s final score and how other composers are better for Pixar to work with:

We’ve known since April 2012 that Unkrich is working on a film for Pixar centered around the Dia de Los Muertos holiday, which is presumably the one that Newman is speaking of. No release date for the film has been set, but Pixar currently has flags for untitled projects set in November 2017 and June 2018.

The idea of Pixar creating their first musical is an exciting prospect, and a vibrant holiday like the Day of the Dead – in which people gather to remember friends and family who have passed – would make for an interesting premise.

Pixar’s upcoming slate, in case you’re curious, currently features two originals and two sequels:

Inside Out on June 19, 2015
The Good Dinosaur on November 25, 2015
Finding Dory on June 17, 2016
Toy Story 4 on June 16, 2017.
