There’s more encouraging news today for those of you hoping to see a fourth Toy Story film. Long-time Pixar exec and Cars 2 director John Lasseter did everything but confirm another Toy Story is in the works while speaking with the BBC this morning.

Lasseter pushed away the question after the hosts referenced their interview with Tom Hanks a few weeks ago – the one that set off the Toy Story 4 rumors.

Said Lasseter:

“Yeah. I found [Hanks’ remarks] very interesting too. Yeah, it was really interesting. He’s uh.. yeah. We haven’t announced anything so can’t really talk – no.”

To back away from the question, he continued without a prompt:

“Cars 2. Cars 2 is SUCH a good movie. I can’t wait for everyone to see it. And you know, Cars 2 has London in it. We had such so much fun making a Cars version of London.”

You can see video of Lasseter’s remarks at this link.

At this point it seems all but confirmed! Pixar is likely holding off on making any official comment because they want to make sure they have a great script to work with. Toy Story 3 was such a hit last year that Pixar cannot say goodbye to the franchise just yet.
