Break out your copy of The Breakfast Club! Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Astin is returning for the highly-anticipated sequel.
The news was revealed by supporting actor Ben Platt (who plays Benji) on Twitter. He shared a photo of the two on set:

The actor plays Jesse, a competitor of Beca’s (Anna Kendrick) in the a cappella world. The two fall in love with each other and have to work around the fact that the Bellas have a rule that states they cannot date their competitors. Oh, if only love wasn’t so difficult.
With their romance now out in the public, Beca and Jesse will hopefully continue their relationship in Pitch Perfect 2. We wouldn’t mind a duet or two for the couple to affirm their love. How about “Best Day Of My Life” by American Authors?
The new movie sees Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Adam DeVine, and Brittany Snow all reprising their roles. Other actors and actresses who appeared in the original are also expected to return for the new story, and the film is directed by co-star Elizabeth Banks.
Pitch Perfect 2 will also welcome some newcomers like Hailee Steinfeld, who will reportedly slip into the lead role if Universal moves forward with Pitch Perfect 3.
The sequel opens in theaters next May.
