Disney is still working on Pirates of the Carribean 5, and the film is now set for a release in three years.

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 will be released July 7, 2017, Disney announced today. No other details were shared, but we know Johnny Depp is set for a return (and is the only actor confirmed so far).

According to comments from the film’s directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg last year, the fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean is titled Dead Men Tell No Tales, a reference to a line heard in the popular Disney Parks attraction.

Pirates 5 was originally slated for a summer 2015 release, but after script concerns and Johnny Depp and Jerry Bruckheimer’s Lone Ranger flop last summer, the film was delayed.

Disney had issued a statement about the initial delay last year. “Like audiences around the globe, we have high expectations for Jack Sparrow’s next adventure and we want to have all the right elements in place,” said Disney production president Sean Bailey. “We’re not there yet and we want to make sure this project is everything these wonderful characters and of course the fans deserve.”

The script is being written by Jeff Nathanson (The Terminal, Catch Me If You Can).

Earlier this week Disney announced a slew of dates for unannounced Marvel projects which extend as far as the year 2019.
