Earlier today we brought you coverage from one of Pixar’s many panels at Disney’s D23 Expo in Southern California when they unveiled new information about upcoming films including the Monsters Inc. prequel Monsters University.

Thanks to an officially released photo we’re now getting a first look at the young Mike Wazowski who’ll be a college student in the film.

UPDATE: We’ve added a second photo below of young Mike which was officially released by Disney.

See the photo below. We attended the panel where this photo was taken (separate from the panel described in our earlier report) and Production Designer Ricky Nivera described this young Mike as an 18-year-old with a retainer who has a smaller, egg-like frame.

It may be hard to tell in the photo, but Mike does look appropriately different from what you see in Monsters Inc. The same goes for co-star Sully, who is also justifiably thinner.
