Peter Jackson’s recently announced third Hobbit film apparently has no budget or script yet, but check out the limited edition 3D glasses you might get to watch the trilogy with.

The budget for the first two Hobbit films was set at $500 million, marketing not included, but according to THR the third Hobbit film is expected to cost less since a majority of the footage has already been filmed when the shoot was originally planned with two films in mind.

What this doesn’t account for is the marketing that will be required for the final film, which if you’ve been paying attention lately cost nearly as much as a film cost to shoot nowadays.

The cast and crew were already scheduled to do pickups for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in June, but now they’ve undoubtedly been extended for weeks, if not months. Peter Jackson has nearly every movie fan’s complete faith, but for a film that barely got green lit to begin with, this seems like it’s starting to become a little convoluted. And as any film producer will tell you, as soon as you start extending shoots and bringing cast back for pickups and reshoots, the more money it cost and the angrier the studio gets. Obviously New Line Cinema believes in Jackson and his team, so for now everything looks to be properly in line.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is set to hit theaters December 14, while The Hobbit: There and Back Again is due to hit almost exactly a year after. Oddly enough, the final Hobbit film is rumored to be hitting theaters in summer of 2014.

Also, Hobbitfilm.it revealed an image of some limited edition 3D glasses that you may have a chance at acquiring at The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey screenings. Their dwarven-inspired design is interesting, despite looking quite difficult to wear. Let us know what you think:
