Peter Jackson’s The Beatles documentary series is set to debut via Disney+ just in time for the holiday season.

On Thursday (June 17) Disney+ announced that they’re gearing up to debut an all new original documentary series centered around The Beatles over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Titled The Beatles: Get Back the all new original documentary series is helmed by Academy Award winning filmmaker Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings trilogy).

In a press release announcing the upcoming documentary series, the streamer announced that The Beatles: Get Back will be presented as three separate episodes set to debut over the course of three consecutive days.

The upcoming docuseries is being made with the support of surviving Beatles members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison.

Speaking to the release of the upcoming documentary series, Bob Iger teased a bit more of what fans can expect from the docuseries in question.

“This phenomenal collection of never-before-seen footage offers an unprecedented look at the close camaraderie, genius songwriting, and indelible impact of one of the most iconic and culturally influential bands of all time, and we can’t wait to share ‘The Beatles: Get Back’ with fans around the world,” said Iger.

Added Peter Jackson: “In many respects, Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s remarkable footage captured multiple storylines. The story of friends and of individuals. It is the story of human frailties and of a divine partnership. It is a detailed account of the creative process, with the crafting of iconic songs under pressure, set amid the social climate of early 1969. But it’s not nostalgia – it’s raw, honest, and human. Over six hours, you’ll get to know The Beatles with an intimacy that you never thought possible.”

Directed by Peter Jackson, The Beatles: Get Back documentary series is set to premiere in three parts, over three days beginning on November 25 via Disney+.
