A new cover has been revealed for Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian, and you can check it out here!
The reveal comes from the official Percy Jackson Facebook page and is the fifth and final new cover to be released this week. The rest of the updated covers for Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be occurring each day this week. We’ve already gotten covers for The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan’s Curse, and The Battle of the Labyrinth.
The new cover for The Last Olympian is below:
The last cover features Percy on Blackjack flying toward the Empire State Buildings. You can compare it to the original, which is below. The two are almost identical, with the original being a lot more monochromatic.
The new covers were created by artist John Rocco, who designed the previous Percy Jackson covers as well. According to the press release, “[Fans will] find out that when these new paperback books are lined up side by side by side, they will reveal one amazing panoramic mural.” You can see the mural below (click for larger size):
The Last Olympian is the final book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. With Kronos’ army growing each and every day, the demigods that have stayed loyal to the Olympians are looking at grim odds. The gods are busy trying to fight Typhon while their children must converge on New York City and protect it from the Titan bent on destroying Olympus.
Riordan has three more books set to be released this year. The first is a short story called “The Staff of Serapis,” which will entail Annabeth Chase meeting Sadie Kane, who is one of the protagonists in Riordan’s Egyptian mythology series, The Kane Chronicles. The short story will release on April 8.
The second book is Percy Jackson and the Greek Gods, debuting on August 19, the day after Percy Jackson’s birthday. The book will be a retelling of the Greek myths in Percy’s voice.
The third book to be released this year is titled The Blood of Olympus and is the final book in the second Percy Jackson series, The Heroes of Olympus. Blood of Olympus will be released on October 7.
