In a new TV spot for Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, we get a couple of small glimpses at some new footage, including an additional shot of Tyson!

The TV spot only offers us a few new shots from the film, but the one that stands out the most is when Tyson grapples with the Colchis Bull as it attacks Camp Half-Blood.

In another new shot, we see Stanley Tucci portraying the head of Camp Half-Blood, Dionysus. He hilariously calls Percy (Logan Lerman) Harry Johnson, and when Percy corrects him, he brushes it off with an uninterested “whatever.”

The rest of the TV spot shows us many shots of Percy going up against various monsters, the Colchis Bull in particular. “Hold on to something” is apt dialogue for this featurette, which ramps up the action pretty quickly given it is only roughly 30 seconds long.

In a previous featurette, we got a more in depth look at the mythology in the movie and got to hear some of the cast talking about the franchise.

Yesterday, we got a new character highlight from the compendium series that featured Grover, played by Brandon T. Jackson.

Fans of the franchise, which is based on the Percy Jackson and the Olympian novels by Rick Riordan, have been cautiously optimistic about the Lightning Thief sequel. After hearing the grumbling from books fans about the first film, the creative team has been trying their hardest to be more faithful to the books.

You can see this in particular in the first trailer, the second trailer, and the international trailer.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters opens in theaters August 7, 2013. It stars Logan Lerman as Percy, Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth, Brandon T. Jackson as Grover, and Jake Abel as Luke. Nathan Fillion (Hermes), Stanley Tucci (Dionysus), Leven Rambin (Clarisse), and Douglas Smith (Tyson) also star.
