The first picture shows Percy (Logan Lerman) and Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario) on a boat, looking off into the distance. The second shows Tyson (Douglas Smith), Percy’s half brother who also happens to be a cyclops; Clarisse (Leven Rambin), daughter of Ares and initially one of Percy’s enemies at Camp Halfblood; and Grover (Brandon T. Jackson), a satyr; along with Percy and Annabeth again. This is when the group is attempting to retrieve the Golden Fleece.

In the third shot we see the main trio hiding out behind a stone wall. The fourth is an action shot of Percy, sword in hand, and the fifth shows Percy with Dionysus (Stanley Tucci), the god of wine.

In the article, Lerman says he enjoyed going back to this story and this character, and that it’s “always fun to have a sword in your hand.” Which, Lerman says, will come in handy since the sequel promises a larger-scale story and bigger monsters.

Smith, Rambin, and Tucci will be making their series debut in Sea of Monsters, along with Nathon Fillion, who will be playing the messenger god Hermes. Percy will also be coming face to face with Kronos – someone that, fans will know, was missing from the first movie.

The first movie didn’t sit well with fans of the series by Rick Riordan, but the film seemed to have done well enough to warrant a sequel, which promises to stick much closer to the book. There is obviously no talk of a third installment just yet, as Sea of Monsters doesn’t come out until August 16, 2013.

However, Lerman did say that a movie like this is, “a nice change of pace from doing some drama.” He goes on to say, “if called again, I would grab my sword and run right into battle.”
