Fast & Furious co-star Vin Diesel appeared at the site where his friend Paul Walker was tragically killed and spoke to fans who were paying their respects.

As captured by TMZ, Diesel borrowed a police vehicle’s loud speaker to speak to fans who turned out. “He’s going to stay with me forever and I just to say thank you, thank you for coming down here and showing that angel up in heaven how much you appreciated him,” he said to applause.

In true paparazzi style, the photographer tries to ask Diesel about when filming will continue. The actor kindly replies that all he can think about right now is the loss of his friend.

Walker and Diesel were in the middle of shooting Fast & Furious 7, so questions have risen about where filming could head from here. A report yesterday out of The Wrap indicates that one option on the table is to scrap the movie entirely and reshoot from the ground up. The decision is feasible for the studio because of insurance which covers unexpected events like this, but that would push back the release date for the latest movie in what is a very profitable franchise. Another option is to replace Walker with a different actor and include scenes he’s already shot.

In related news, Universal has announced that a portion of sales from Fast & Furious 6 on DVD/Blu-ray will go to Walker’s nonprofit foundation Reach Out WorldWide. “With the passing of Paul, the world has lost a man who spent a great deal of his life in service to others. We share in the deep grief of his family, friends and the countless fans who love him,” said Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Pictures. The film will hit store shelves on December 10.
