Patty Jenkins’ upcoming Star Wars movie, Rogue Squadron has found its screenwriter in Matthew Robinson.

In case you missed it, Wonder Woman helmer Patty Jenkins is gearing up to head to a galaxy far, far away.

The director is set to spearhead a brand new Star Wars movie titled Rogue Squadron, and now, it’s looking like the film has officially found its writer.

According to Deadline, Matthew Robinson (The Invention of Lying) has officially been brought on board to write the script for the forthcoming Star Wars feature film.

That Jenkins would be helming a brand new film for the iconic sci-fi franchise was first announced in December 2020.

As with all Star Wars properties however, plot details for Jenkins’ movie are being kept firmly under wraps for the time being.

Rogue Squadron is one of quite a few new movies in various stages of development over at Lucasfilm. Others who’ve also been tapped to direct Star Wars movies over the course of the last year include Academy Award winner Taika Waititi, Marvel head Kevin Feige, and Sleight helmer J.D. Dillard.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron is slated to be released on December 22, 2023.
