Production on The Batman has once again come to a grinding halt after star, Robert Pattinson, reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Vanity Fair, actor Robert Pattinson has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, which has subsequently caused production on director Matt Reeves’ The Batman to come to a stop.

As with many projects currently in production, filming on The Batman came to an unexpected halt back in March when coronavirus numbers started to climb. Production on the highly anticipated film had only resumed for a few days before Pattinson tested positive for the virus.

Word of the film’s star contracting COVID-19 comes from an unnamed source said to be close to the project.

Warner Bros., however, has declined to comment on any one individual’s health. In a statement sent out with regards to the matter, the studio said:

“A member of The Batman production has tested positive for COVID-19, and is isolating in according with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused.”

In addition, representatives for Robert Pattinson have not yet commented on the matter.

Though we’re sure fans of the caped crusader are itching for Reeves’ take to hit theaters sooner rather than later, ultimately the safety of all those involved with the film behind the scenes comes first.

Word of a snag in production on the DCEU film comes hot on the heels of director Matt Reeves treating fans to a brand new teaser trailer for the film.

Released as part of this year’s DC FanDome event, the teaser offers up a fantastic look as to what awaits us when the film eventually hits theaters.

The Batman is slated to be released sometime in 2021.
