Ant-Man continues to undergo changes as Patrick Wilson has left the upcoming Marvel project.

Fewer projects have undergone a more publicly dramatic overhaul than Marvel’s first Phase 3 entry Ant-Man.

According to Deadline, actor Patrick Wilson has now departed the film along with Matt Gerard and Kevin Weisman.

In May, Edgar Wright famously departed Ant-Man after working on it for over eight years. Creative differences were cited in one of the biggest studio/artist breakups in recent memory. One would assume Wilson, Gerard, and Weisman followed Wright out because they signed on to work with the popular director, but Marvel insiders “adamantly dispute” that for being the reason for their departure.

Wilson’s departure is reportedly a matter of timing. Wright’s departure came as filming was set to commence, and because of the script rewrites and director change, filming has been dramatically delayed. Because of the delays, Wilson can no longer participate in the project due to a scheduling conflict. We are assuming that the conflict is with his other 2015 film The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist. The sequel to the critically and financially successful The Conjuring depends on Wilson, and he’d be committed to that project over Ant-Man.

Scheduling was not the reason for Gerard and Weisman’s departures. The roles they were set to play were reportedly written out of the script when it went through numerous rewrites, and they are not in Adam McKay’s final version of the script.

Paul Rudd will star in Ant-Man as Scott Lang with Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. As per the official synopsis, Ant-Man will tell the story of how con man Scott Lang must be a hero and help Hank Pym protect the secret of his Ant-Man suit by pulling off a world saving heist. They were recently featured in a poster.
