The new Charlie’s Angels reboot has added another big name cast member to its ranks!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Patrick Stewart is currently in final negotiations to star in Elizabeth Banks’ upcoming Charlie’s Angels reboot.

The beloved actor will be bringing a pretty iconic character from the franchise to life as well. Stewart will be playing Bosley in the upcoming action flick.

In the original 1970s iteration, Bosley serves as the Angels’ main contact with the often heard but never seen Charlie Townsend, the mysterious owner of the detective agency the girls work for.

Perhaps the most interesting part about Stewart’s casting announcement however is that he’s not the only actor currently linked to the role of Bosley.

Earlier this summer we learned that Banks would also be playing Bosley in addition to serving as writer and producer on the project.

It’ll be interesting to see if the latest version of the franchise indeed plays around with the idea of having two Bosleys, or if Stewart is actually joining the cast in another role entirely.

Stewart joins previously announced cast members Kristen Stewart (Twilight), Naomi Scott (Power Rangers, Disney’s live action Aladdin), and newcomer Ella Balinska, who will be playing the Angels in Sony’s new reboot.

Though the new film will expand on what’s come before both in the TV series and in the movies, it’ll focus on telling the story of the next generation of Angels. The new adventure will also expand the Townsend Agency’s reach as Charlie’s once small operation is now a global security and intelligence service with teams across the world.

The new Charlie’s Angels movie is slated to hit theaters next year on September 27, 2019.
