The first full-length trailer for Passengers is here, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt!

One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Passengers, finally has a trailer. And it looks like Morten Tyldum’s sci-fi epic has more going for it than its impressive lead cast!

Superstars Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt finally come together on the big screen, and as the trailer proves, their chemistry is out of this world:

In Passengers, a space ship sets out from Earth carrying a large group of colonists towards a distant planet they are to call home.

The journey will take more than 100 years, and the passengers are therefore locked in cryo sleep for the duration of the journey. But two of the pods malfunction and Pratt and Lawrence’s characters awaken 90 years early, only to discover that nothing is as it seems.

There are plenty of light moments as the two strangers acknowledge the fact that they are a pair of attractive heterosexual humans all alone in the universe (so obviously they must date), but the dramatic element is immediately apparent when a series of malfunctions threaten the lives of everyone on board, and only Pratt’s Jim and Lawrence’s Aurora can save humanity.

“There’s a reason we woke up early,” Pratt tells Lawrence, implying that perhaps he (who seems like he’s got some serious technical skills) knows more about what’s going on than she does.

We’ll have to wait a few more months to find out what that reason is: Passengers premieres December 21, 2016. We can’t wait!
