Parks and Recreation season 7, episodes 3 and 4, “William Henry Harrison” and “Leslie and Ron,” air tonight at 8:00 p.m. on NBC. Finally a show is willing to honor America’s shortest tenured President.

It’s a dark time on Parks and Rec. Gryzzl is trying to take over Newport land and build a factory instead of a park. Tom’s potential one true love, Lucy has a boyfriend. But most distressingly: Leslie and Ron are enemies. Could that all change tonight with an episode tantalizingly titled “Leslie and Ron?”

We have no inside info, but Michael Schur and the other Parks and Rec writers sure do love setting up potentially long arcs and then resolving them much quicker than expected. Andy and April got married after only dating for a handful of episodes. It would be quite like Parks and Rec to reunite Leslie and Ron earlier than expected.

Even without that, however, we also know that the first half of tonight’s episode will pay homage to one of the U.S.’s oddest public figures: President William Henry Harrison who succumbed to pneumonia a month after taking office. Maybe a public figure’s short service comes to an abrupt end tonight, or maybe Pawnee is just the kind of weird town to celebrate a William Henry Harrison day. Yeah, it’s probably the latter.

Official synopsis for ‘Parks and Rec’ season 7, episode 3, ‘William Henry Harrison’:

There seems to be an unofficial rule of television that the sparser an official episode synopsis reads, the better an episode will be. With that in mind, and factoring in that Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman will share a lot of screen time, there’s a chance that tonight’s second half-hour could be an all-time Parks and Rec great.
