Parks and Recreation season 6, episodes 21 and 22, “Moving On” air tonight at 8:00 p.m. on NBC. It’s another Parks and Rec finale… and thankfully not the last.

The cast and crew of Parks and Rec has filmed at least three episodes that could have doubled as a series finale*, but tonight’s episode marks a rare event for quality NBC comedies: a season finale that for sure won’t be a series finale.

*The second season finale, the fourth season finale and the Ben and Leslie wedding episode.

Parks and Rec has the convenience of knowing it will return for at least one more season and by the sound of its stars’ excitement, tonight’s season finale will take advantage of the potential for cliffhangers and excitement. NBC has not released an official synopsis but we do know that Amy Poehler is super, duper, duper excited about it. Here is a teaser from an interview she gave last week:

“The last minute or so of our season finale… the last moments are really important and big things happen that kind of show you where we’re going and where a lot of the characters are going or shows you where they may go. I would encourage everybody to make sure they watch until the very end… It ends with, I don’t know, a pretty exciting and – dare I say, in a good way – very exciting last moment. I’m very excited for people to see it.”

If that’s not enough, Jeff Tweedy returns as a Pawnee-famous musician for the Unity Concert, along with Ginuwine and many other music stars.

Blake Anderson of Workaholics will also star as the inventor of an app, while Aubrey Plaza promises that pretty much every citizen in Pawnee will appear.

Anything else? Oh… just the First Lady of the United States.

It’s been a long road to the Unity Concert on Parks and Rec. Now we can just sit back, relax and enjoy the Ginuwine.
