The first trailer for the latest JFK assassination film, Parkland, starring Billy Bob Thornton, Paul Giamatti, and Zac Efron has been released.

There’s been quite a few films that have gone back to the tragic events that occurred when President John F. Kennedy was shot in Dallas, Texas. Now we have another, which is directed by Peter Landesman and titled: Parkland.

If the story of JFK’s assassination doesn’t bring tingles down your spine, this trailer surely will. Check out the Parkland trailer below thanks to Yahoo! Movies:

Parkland is being produced by actor Tom Hanks, and the film pushes back the curtains on some of the events that took place that day that we may not know about.

The title comes from the Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, where President Kennedy was brought after he was assassinated, and where Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby were killed.

While there’s been some epic films that detail the assassination of one of America’s most beloved presidents, the trailer for Parkland certainly produces a striking mood.

Starring Billy Bob Thornton as a secret service agent and Paul Giamatti as the man who became famous for recording the assassination (Zapruder tapes), we’re definitely intrigued.

Fans may also notice that Zac Efron stars as the doctor who was available when JFK arrived at the Parkland hospital and actress Marcia Gay plays a nurse that seemingly shakes him out of shock to work to try and save the President.

Parkland will see its official debut at the Venice Film Festival, which starts a week from today, and has a tentative theatrical release date set for September 20.
