Variety is reporting that Paramount has put into motion a remake of the Alfred Hitchcock classic Suspicion, hiring scribe Veena Sud of AMC’s The Killing to pen the script.

Suspicion, which garned a Best Picture nomination in 1941, tells the story of a shy young british woman who marries a charming young man, only to being to suspect he’s trying to kill her. The original starred Cary Grant and earned Joan Fontaine a Best Actress Oscar win.

This would mark the first feature film for Sud, who is the show-runner on the critically acclaimed series The Killing. Montecito Pictures is already signed on to produce the film.
