Don’t worry, Paddington fans — it looks like more adventures featuring our favorite marmalade-loving bear are on the way!

In a recent interview with Collider, producer David Heyman (whose other credits include the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchises) revealed that Paddington 3 is in development at Warner Bros., though no script has been written as of yet.

“I hope we get to make it. It’s really fun, it’s a fun idea,” Heyman teased. “I don’t know yet. I don’t want to do it if I don’t think it’s gonna be good.”

Unfortunately, it looks like a third film would have to go on without helmer Paul King, who directed the first two installments of the hit family films.

Though Heyman didn’t mention it, it’s likely King may not return to direct a third installment given his incredibly full plate. Currently, the director is also signed to helm Disney’s live-action Pinocchio as well as Warner Bros.’ upcoming Willy Wonka movie.

King may not be directing, but it sounds as though he will be involved somehow behind the scenes.

“Paul is involved in it, I wanted him to be involved in it because I think he’s such a significant voice, but I don’t think he’ll direct it,” Heyman told Collider. “He worked on the idea…he comes up with the idea with Simon Farnaby and Bark Burton and then they develop it and come back for more, back and forth, and then it’ll get written and Paul will come in and stir it up a little bit.”

We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that Paddington 3 gets the green light soon!
