The first trailer for Outlander season 5 is here, and it’s bound to get you even more excited for new episodes to begin airing next month!

The most recent Droughtlander might have been one of the longest yet, but the good news is the end is in sight.

With just a little over a month to go before Outlander season 5 officially premieres on Valentine’s Day weekend, Starz has finally shared the official teaser trailer with fans far and wide.

Season 4 marked the Fraser’s first in the American colonies, and while we were treated to tons of domestic bliss, fans found themselves on the edge of their seats with the start of the Revolutionary War looming dangerously on the horizon.

The first trailer for season 5 cements the fact that the American Revolution isn’t something that’s merely off in the distance — in fact, it’s very much arrived on the Frasers’ doorstep.

Jamie and Claire are no strangers when it comes to trying to outrun time or history. This time, though, it doesn’t sound as though trying to change history will be an option.

As Brianna points out later on in the trailer, stopping the fight now means “America will never become America.”

To complicate things even more, it’s finally time for Jamie to hold up his end of the bargain from season 4, meaning he’s off to fight in the Revolution — not for America, but for the British crown.

There’s no telling how things will pan out for all of our favorite characters (unless you’ve read Diana Gabaldon’s The Fiery Cross, of course) but one thing’s for sure — fans are in for one helluva season come February!

Outlander season 5 premieres via Starz on February 16.
