Mark your calendars, Outlander fans — we finally know when we can expect new episodes of our favorite series to hit the small screen!

We may be thick in the trenches of another Droughtlander, but the good news is that Starz has finally let us in on when we’ll be able to quench our thirst for more Outlander.

News of a season 5 premiere date comes from the official Outlander Twitter account, who took to the internet on Thursday (August 29) to reveal that the show would officially be back on Starz this February.

“Save the date, #Outlander fans. Season 5 premieres on February 16 on @Starz!” tweeted the show along with a still of Jamie (Sam Heughan), Claire (Caitriona Balfe), and Bri (Sophie Skelton).

Guess that means Outlander fans far and wide have a date with the Frasers this year for Valentine’s Day weekend (though we’re sure no one will be complaining about that!)

Season 5’s February release will come about one year after season 4’s big finale. On paper, that seems like a long while to go without new Outlander episodes, but given that we’ve already past the Droughtlander halfway mark, waiting another five months doesn’t seem so bad.

Production for season 5, which is based off of author Diana Gabaldon’s The Fiery Cross (the fifth book in her series) is already well under way. In fact, filming for the highly anticipated fifth season of the series started back in April.

And, with the cast set to make another appearance at this year’s New York Comic Con, we’re sure that means we’ll get a few little tidbits of information with regards to how filming on the new season is going!

Outlander season 5 premieres via Starz on February 16, 2020.
