A total of 16 animated features have been submitted for Oscars consideration, including Inside Out, The Peanuts Movie and Home.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced this week that 16 animated featured have been submitted for consideration. From this impressive haul, the Oscar nominees for Best Animated Feature will be selected.

Pixar’s Inside Out is, of course, in contention, and seems a shoe-in for the nomination (and maybe even the win, if the pre-awards season buzz is anything to go by).

Pixar has more than one horse in this race though, because The Good Dinosaur (in theaters November 25) has also been submitted.

Also of note is Studio Ghibli’s final film, When Marnie Was There, a beautiful animated feature which certainly deserves a spot on the final list of nominees.

Finally, we’re delighted to see DreamWorks’ Home on the list too, as the surprisingly heartfelt movie made quite a splash earlier this year.
