Orphan Black season 4, episode 6 “The Scandal of Altruism,” seemingly has put an end to the war against Neolution, but we’ve got 6 episodes left so we know it ain’t over yet.

Orphan Black has become nothing more than a scientific war, pitting those who want a faster human evolution against those affected by the acceleration of said evolution. It’s science vs nature at its finest, and it’s really become engrossing to watch.

I really like to consider every episode like a singular battle in a war that has lasted 4 seasons. Every single thing that Sarah and her sisters do against Neolution and the DYAD invokes a response from them which leads to some sort of altercation and, eventually, ends in someone winning that battle. Tonight the winner of the battle was very clearly Neolution… or should I say, Evie Cho.

It’s a fight for power

While Susan Duncan may be the head of Neolution it’s become quite clear that Evie Cho is the scientist behind the work; Susan had even called Evie the “engineer” behind it all. But the two women see things very differently, and Susan is far too attached to the Leda clones to make the evolutionary progress that Evie wants to see happen.

It turns out that Beth had found all of this out and she’d realized that Evie Cho wanted Susan dead but instead of playing the part of Evie’s pawn Beth hunted her down instead. Evie threatened that Beth’s knowledge will end up harming everyone around her including her sisters and her boyfriend, and that right there is why she committed suicide — it was all Evie Cho’s fault. The moment she said “you should use that gun on yourself,” I wanted to slap her so hard.

Evie Cho is a ruthless controller, someone who wants everything done her way to she can continue to engineer the perfect human being. This season is going to become the “Evie vs Susan” show, and I feel like if you had to pick the lesser of two evils it would definitely be Susan who has my vote. …but can we just destroy Neolution as a whole? That would be fantastic.

The Original DNA is gone

Welp, that happened. Kendall Malone is no more than a pile of ash in the back of a van, and I can’t say that I’m surprised. Being the only human being in the world that holds all of the answers in her DNA, I’m actually kind of surprised she survived so long! The only thing more surprising than that is the fact that the Leukemia she had actually was very helpful to Cosima because they were able to isolate the DNA that the white blood cells replicated from, ensuring Leda’s survival and Castor’s end when they gave the DNA to Susan. Luckily that DNA sampled was destroyed by Sarah, but unluckily now they have absolutely no data left to work a cure from.

Cosima ended up transferring all of the data to a hard-drive but that hard-drive also contained a trojan that destroyed all of her and Scot’s local data at the lab. What does this mean? Essentially Cosima and Scot are screwed, because now Neolution has the genome to be able to make more clones and Cosima and Scot lost their only hope for a cure to Cosima’s sickness.

It’s not all over yet, though! While at the Neolution headquarters Sarah managed to get the worm removed from her cheek and Cosima slyly swiped it off the desk. They told Sarah that it was making her sicker because somehow she’s immune to the disease the plagues the Leda clones, but I’m not sure if I believe that 100%.

What does it really do? I’m not so sure. However, I’m utterly convinced the worm that Cosima swiped is going to have all the answers they need to try and figure out a cure, and/or it will help them negotiate a new deal with Neolution.

We didn’t see a body, so…

Is Delphine really dead? Evie Cho flat-out says that Delphine Cormier was shot by the DYAD, yet Krystal Goteritch claims she saw it all. I have reason to believe that Delphine is alive and Krystal is the only one who knows what happened with her, because if she saw the moments after Delphine got shot maybe she knows who took Delphine and where she’s hiding.

Basically I’m not going to believe Delphine until I see her rotting corpse, just like we saw Dr. Leekie’s. Not that I’m advocating they show another rotting corpse on the show (one is more than enough) but I’m just saying: No body, no death.
