Orphan Black ends its third season this Saturday, and there are still plenty of questions we need answered and things that need to happen before we’ll be 100% satisfied.

Let’s face it, not all of our questions are going to be answered this Saturday. This is a season finale, after all, and that means that it’ll have to leave some mysteries in the dark for us to tune in next season. But we do have a few things that definitely need closure before we let go of our favorite clones until 2016.

An explanation for Shay

We learned last week that Shay was not the Castor mole, but that doesn’t mean we’re any less suspicious of the chic new girl. Delphine did a background check and her files revealed that she was definitely part of the military, so what is that all about?

Could Shay really just be a girl from the Internet that found Cosima and decided to innocently swipe right? Perhaps. Probably not, though, given that Orphan Black has a tendency to connect different aspects of the story when you least expect it.

But maybe that’s just it: Maybe because we expect her to be evil or connected to this whole clone business somehow that’s why she isn’t. Orphan Black is anything but predictable, which is why we never bought that she was the mole in the first place. It would be great to see Shay just be an innocent bystander, not involved in any DYAD/military stuff in any way. There were only two people in the show who entered like that: Felix and Scott. Maybe it’s time for a third.

Cosima’s fate revealed

This might be a series long arc, but we doubt it. All season long we’ve gotten small hints (and some not-so-small) that her respiratory problem is getting worse, and since she refuses to use Kira for another stem-cell treatment, we know that the likelihood of her getting better is dependent on solving their genome.

Cosima is such a fan favorite that we truly wonder: Will the show have the stones to kill her off? We know they have ample stones, but to kill off one half of the show’s biggest ship would be one of the most controversial moves the show will have done since (almost) killing off Rachel Duncan.

We hope that Cosima is able to use Kendall somehow to get better, but we also know that the show’s stakes need to be raised if they want people to really be worried about anyone dying. We just hope they don’t raise them by killing off Cosima.

Alison’s inclusion

Alison has spent most of season 2 and season 3 doing her own thing. That’s reasonable since when she signed the contract at the end of season 1 she had mentioned that she will give DYAD the science they need as long as they leave her life in tact — and that’s exactly what they did.

But now? It’s gotten so boring! We absolutely love Alison Hendrix and her suburban mom problems because they really lighten up the tone of the show and bring some much needed comic relief, but there comes a point when comic relief isn’t enough anymore.

We did get to see Alison be more involved with episode 7, which was great. But now that her drug dealers are dead, thanks to Helena, and her election is about to wrap up this week, what is she going to do now? Continue to ignore the huge revelations that Sarah, Felix and Mrs. S discovered?

Alison needs to get involved in clone club once again, otherwise we fear that she’ll become so irrelevant she’d be the easiest clone to kill off.

Topside

Topside, Topside, Topside. Since season 1 we were curious about what this term meant, who it meant, and what it involved. Season 3 of Orphan Black has had the biggest inclusion of Topside all series with Ferdinand, who came to run a risk analysis of the clones.

Surely there are more people in Topside that we’ve already met, right? Maybe. We know that Topside is likely a series long arc, and they’ll be in the Orphan Black clone club fight until the very end — but hopefully before the show ends this season we’ll get to know who exactly is at the top of Topside.

Is it the Prime Minister? Is it a collection of leaders from countries all over the world? Is it all just military? These are the questions we have about Topside that need to be answered, and while we might not find out who the very top is, maybe we’ll find out just enough to quench our thirst before the Orphan Black drought begins.

What do you want to see happen in the ‘Orphan Black’ season 3 finale?
