Tonight BBC America gave Orphan Black fans one of the best gifts they could: The Orphan Black season 2 air date!
Fans no longer have to wait and wonder when Sarah, Allison, Rachel and Cosima will return to our screens! Orphan Black‘s season 2 will premiere this spring on April 19 2014.

The synopsis for the second season reads:
Season 2 hits the ground running with Sarah in a desperate race to find her missing daughter Kira (Skyler Wexler, Alphas). Her scorched earth tactics spark a war with pro-clone, Rachel (Maslany), dividing and imperiling all the clones. As Sarah discovers more about her past, mysterious newcomers appear, but can they be trusted?
Orphan Black is a fandom that has been growing and growing ever since the show aired last year on BBC America. In fact, it grew so much, that their room filled up way earlier than expected when the show had a panel at this year’s Comic-Con. Take a look at BBC America’s Comic-Con video below, which shows the spirit of the fandom and the top 8 moments of their panel, revealing some information about season 2.
Earlier this year they’ve announced and cast three new characters who will be showing up, and we’re excited to see how the clones will deal with the presence of a new threat and/or ally.
Still don’t know what all the hype is about Orphan Black? Well, it’s a show centered around Sarah Manning, an orphan turned criminal and con-artist who comes across a woman who looks exactly like her at a train station, only to witness her commit suicide seconds later. Confused and shocked, Sarah swipes the bag of her now dead twin to see who she is and why they look identical, and discovers a realm of secrets, classified projects and a plethora of other women identical to her.
