Orcs Must Die! 2 has barely been out a month, yet Robot Entertainment are already able to release details of the first of its downloadable content, Fire & Water. New levels, enemies and traps will be available in the DLC, deemed a “booster pack”, later this month.

Three new levels (Traffic Jammed, Double Decker, and The West Wing) and three new Endless Mode conversions (The Library, Double Decker, and The West Wing) will feature in this booster pack, all of which will be playable either in single-player or co-op.

The fire & water will be provided in the form of elementals. Fire Lords and Fire Elementals crumble when killed, spawning Firelings which will hunt the player and explode when they get near. Water Lords and Water Elementals turn into puddles of water when killed, but if Waterlings come across these stagnant puddles, they’ll morph into new elementals.

The War Mage will be able to utilise three new traps to combat these new threats. First, the Web Spinner, a wall trap that tangles enemies in webs, having a similar effect to the tar parts that we all know and love. Ceiling Darts fire in all directions, and lastly, most interestingly, is the Floor Portal – enemies which step on the portals will be teleported back to the start of the level.

Finally, you can get another bonus skull if you manage to complete a level with no traps, and just weapons.

Robot Entertainment’s Orcs Must Die! 2 was well received upon release, clocking an impressive 84% on Metacritic. Unlike the first game in the franchise, the sequel allows two-player co-op and introduced a second playable character, the Sorceress. Check out the announcement trailer for the base game here.

Orcs Must Die! 2: Fire & Water Booster Pack will be released on August 29, setting you back $4.99 on Steam.
