At last night’s Golden Globes, Oprah inspired everyone in her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

The 75th Golden Globe Awards were held last night, and the entire ceremony had an air of justice and change. With women donning all black to help raise awareness of the injustice and inequality in Hollywood and the world over, the awards felt like a unique and special time in history.

This was doubly true as Oprah Winfrey accepted the Cecil B. DeMille awards. Winfrey is the first African-American woman to receive the award, and she used her platform to praise the pioneers that came before her like Sidney Poitier and Recy Taylor, as well as encourage those coming after her.

Winfrey’s words managed to rock the entire audience in attendance at the Globes, and those watching from home as well. Many took to Twitter to express how moved they were by to witness a history-making occasion paired with such inspiring, heart-felt words.

Winfrey’s speech was so inspiring that the rumor also started to swirl that she would be running for the presidency. While it’s not clear if that’s a real rumor or just something that spiraled from the “nothing but respect for MY president” meme, it’s gotten people talking.

Regardless of what Oprah plans to do next, her words have inspired millions. A new day is on the horizon, and we are all ready for it.
