Looks like Only Murders in the Building season 2 is officially in the works over at Hulu.

True crime fanatics that just can’t get enough of Hulu’s new dark comedy, Only Murders in the Building have much to celebrate this week.

On Tuesday (September 14), Hulu revealed that it has officially picked up Only Murders in the Building for a season 2.

News of the renewal comes just as the critically acclaimed comedy releases reaches its halfway mark for season 1.

The series, which debuted via Hulu on August 31, became the most watched original comedy for the streamer upon its premiere.

Starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, the show centers on three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one.

When a death occurs in their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the three suspects murder, and makes use of their extensive true crime knowledge to investigate the truth.

In a statement announcing the season 2 renewal, Craig Erwich (president, ABC Entertainment and Hulu Originals) said: “Only Murders in the Building reflects the kind of creative excellence that is the hallmark of Hulu Originals. Steve [Martin], John [Hoffman] and Dan [Fogleman] have created a uniquely captivating and entertaining series.”

“The audience’s response to the delightful blend of mystery, humor and emotion in the show has been overwhelming and we can’t wait to follow this unlikely trio on their next adventure.”

Season 1, episode 5 is out now. Titled Twist, this week’s episode finds Mabel (Gomez) slipping away on a solo mission. Suspicious of her motives, Charles and Oliver (Martin, Short) follow her.

Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect to see Only Murders in the Building season 2 debut via Hulu.
