The Lady Gaga curated One World: Together at Home proved what can happen when people come together for a common cause.

One World: Together at Home, which was conceived and curated by Lady Gaga, proved to be much more than a collection of performances to help people pass the time in quarantine. The broadcast resulted in $127 million in relief funds for COVID-19.

Lady Gaga teamed up with Global Citizen and the World Health Organization for the event.

While the event was not a direct fundraiser, it brought in funds through corporate partnerships and sales of “Together at Home” merchandise. Clearly, the approach was extremely successful!

The money will be used to purchase and distribute protective equipment for front line workers and to benefit organizations making a difference in this crisis.

One World: Together at Home began with a six-hour pre-show that was exclusively streamed online on YouTube, Apple, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, among other digital platforms. The stream featured heartfelt performances from many artists including Kesha, Niall Horan, and Charlie Puth.

The pre-show was followed up by a two-hour broadcast which aired on the ABC, CBS, NBC, iHeartMedia and Bell Media networks, among others! It was co-hosted by late night lads Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert. Don’t worry, many jokes were made about the number of “Jimmys” on the panel.

Throughout the broadcast, performances by A-list performers were mixed with clips and interviews featuring health-care workers all over the world. Experts also weighed in with social distancing tips, mental health advice, and insight into the situation on the front lines.

The insane list of talented performers included Lady Gaga, Lizzo, Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Kacey Musgraves, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli and John Legend. Stars like Amy Poehler, Matthew McConaughey, Beyonce, and Usher also made appearances to inspire fans.

Following the broadcast, Global Citizen tweeted the amazing amount of money that had already been raised as a result of the event. $127 million and counting!
