One Republic is back with “Feel Again” – a bright and catchy track off the band’s third studio album out later this year.

As Florence and the Machine proved with “Dog Days Are Over,” hand clapping can be an effective tool in creating an upbeat, optimistic tune. And so does Colorado-based band One Republic with “Feel Again.”

“It’s been a long time coming since I’ve seen your face / I’ve been everywhere and back trying to replace / Everything that I had till my feet went numb / Praying like a fool that’s been on a run / Heart still beating but it’s not working / It’s like a million dollar phone that you just can’t ring / I reached out trying to love, but I feel nothing / Yeah, my heart is numb / But with you, I feel again,” sings frontman and songwriter Ryan Tedder.

The single is now available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds going to Save the Children to provide life-saving care for children in remote villages. Listen to the band’s newest song below.

One Republic has been making its mark on pop music since the band’s debut album, Dreaming Out Loud, in 2007, which produced hits in “Apologize” and “Stop and Stare.” The band will follow up 2009’s Waking Up with a new album out this year. Other songs that could potentially be in the new album include “What U Wanted,” “Burning Bridges” and “Let’s Get Lost,” which the band tweeted about in April.

The “Feel Again” music video is due Tuesday, but until then check out behind-the-scenes footage of the band in the studio.
