The boys of One Direction are back with a brand new single for you to jam out to just in time for the tail end of the summer. Could the British/Irish group’s latest track be their “Best Song Ever”? Have a listen and decide for yourselves!
Following along the same lines as previous debut singles “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Live Like We’re Young,” One Direction’s latest single is just as toe-tappingly catchy as you would expect it to be.
Sugary-sweet bubble gum pop lines like “maybe it’s the way she walked/ straight into my heart and stole it,” countered by more risque lines like, “said I had a dirty mouth/then she kissed me like she meant it,” make for clever lyric play as the boys sing about dancing all night to the best song ever with the perfect girl.
While you’ll certainly find yourself bobbing along to this up tempo track, “Best Song Ever” arguably isn’t as infectious as some of the band’s previous singles like last summer’s “Kiss You.” That being said, as with most 1D tracks, we suspect this one will grow on you after a couple of listens– especially if you’re a fan of the band’s previous releases in general.
“Best Song Ever” is the debut track off of One Direction’s forthcoming album, rumored to be released around Christmas this year.
The official music video for the track will be released on July 22.
