One Day at a Time has just added two new cast members to its upcoming third season at Netflix.

Just last week we learned that music icon Gloria Estefan would be going head to head with Abuelita Lydia on the forthcoming season of Netflix’s hit family sitcom, One Day at a Time. Now, Netflix is letting us in on a few more new cast members set to join the family!

Actors Raúl Castillo and Danny Pino have both joined the cast of season 3 in recurring roles.

News of Castillo’s casting comes from Deadline, who also dished some deets on who the actor (who some might remember from HBO’s Looking) will be playing.

According to the outlet, Castillo will be playing a character called Mateo. Mateo is described as being a dad friend of Penelope’s from school. Justina Machado’s Penelope and Castillo’s Mateo might start off as buddies, but they won’t stay that way. According to the official synopsis for his character, their relationship will eventually turn into something more.

Showrunner Gloria Calderon Kellett took to Twitter to share the good news of Pino’s casting. The Law & Order: SVU alum will be playing Penelope’s brother Tito next season.

“Exciting @OneDayAtATime casting news!! The magnificent @TheDannyPino will be playing Penelope’s brother, Tito!!,” tweeted the showrunner along with a cute photo of herself and Pino alongside co-stars Machado, Isabella Gomez (Elena), Marcel Ruiz (Alex), and Rita Moreno (Abuelita Lydia).

In addition to Castillo and Pino, season 3 will also feature the return of actress Sheridan Pierce.

Pierce will be returning to reprise her role as Elena’s queer/non-binary girlfriend, Syd.

With all these exciting casting announcements coming our way, it’s clear that season 3 of One Day at a Time is shaping up to be a pretty great one.

We can’t wait for new episodes to hit Netflix sometime in 2019!
