One Day At A Time has officially been cancelled despite efforts to find the series a new home.

Update (12/8/2020): It’s a sad day for fans of the hit Latinx comedy One Day At A Time.

On Tuesday (December 8), showrunner Gloria Calderon Kellett took to Twitter to let fans know that One Day At A Time has been cancelled for good.

The beloved series, which originally made its debut as a Netflix Original, was recently cancelled by Pop TV after the network swooped in and saved it following its initial cancellation.

Despite getting the axe at Pop TV, fans were hopeful that perhaps the show could find a new home elsewhere— especially after Kellett said that plans were already in motion to shop the show around at other networks. Unfortunately, it seems creators weren’t as lucky the second time around.

“It’s officially over. There will be no new @OneDayAtATime episodes,” tweeted Kellett. “But there will always be 46 epiosdes that we got to make that live FOREVER. Thank you to this beautiful cast. Our dedicated crew. And to you, our loyal fans. We loved making this for you. Thank you for watching.”

Original Story (11/24/2020):

One Day At A Time won’t be returning for another season at Pop TV.

Pop TV has opted to cancel One Day At A Time after just one season.

News of the beloved series’ cancellation is bound to be a bitter sting to fans far and wide. As viewers know, the Latinx sitcom (which is a reboot of the 1975 classic Normal Lear series) originally started off as a Netflix Original series/

The streaming giant canceled the show prematurely after just three seasons back in 2019. It was then that Pop TV swooped in and saved One Day At A Time, picking up the hit series for a fourth season.

The series kicked off its season 4 at Pop earlier this year in March before moving on to air this past fall on CBS.

Though it’s understandably sad to know Pop won’t be renewing the show for a fifth season, ODAAT’s second cancellation might not mean the end of the line for the show.

According to Variety, who was first to report the news, a source close to the project says that Sony Pictures Television intends to shop the series around to outlets once more meaning there’ll be an opportunity for yet another network to (hopefully) swoop in and save the show yet again.

Shortly after news broke, series co-creator Gloria Calderon Kellett took to Twitter to let fans know that the series doesn’t intend to go down without a fight.

“Sadly, the news is out. I’m not sad just yet, y’all. We still have some hope for new homes. Hang tight, my loves. You know that if I go down, I will go down swinging for this show (& cast & crew) I love,” tweeted Calderon Kellett.
