Emma Swan is one of only two characters on Once Upon a Time who does not have a fairytale counterpart, and therefore the flashback setup they have established might not work for her. But Jennifer Morrison says that we’ll still be exploring her backstory.

In an interview with the Boston Herald, Morrison reveals:

We are getting close to the episode where you learn why Henry was given up for adoption. The whole thing is uncomfortable for Emma. She has worked so hard to isolate herself, now she is faced with having feelings for this child.

She also talks about Emma’s character:

Emma is so damaged. She has had such a hard life. If you mess with her, she is going to mess back. It is interesting to play a character who has a temper and has to reel it in.

In the interview, Morrison also says that she has not yet been invited back for House‘s final season. Read the full interview here at the Boston Herald.
