Once Upon a Time star Colin O’ Donoghue may not be revisiting Neverland any time soon, but we have a few more details about Hook’s up coming season 4 appearance.

As more and more casting information arrives for NBC’s latest musical, fans of Once Upon a Time will not find their own version of Hook on the list of cast members. Colin O’ Donoghue auditioned to bring a very different Hook to the screen for NBC’s Peter Pan: Live. O’Donoghue does dabble in the world of music, however, Christopher Walken’s stint in Hairspray (and other credits) made a more convincing argument in favor of Walken.

Never fear Hook fans, the suave Captain Hook and Storybrooke’s latest resident is not going anywhere. However, when we meet him again this season, he may have a new look to show off for fans.

Edward Kitsis tells E! that Emma and Hook will go on their first official date when the series returns. He says, “If you notice, they haven’t had a proper date. Their dates have been running from time travels and portals and monsters, so they’re going to have a proper date.”

How hard can a date in Storybrooke be to accomplish? Well, it may not be the typical dinner and a movie most people expect. With any luck it will go better than the meal he crashed in New York City at the start of season 3.

As for his wardrobe change, after two seasons wearing the same clothes, Hook updates his look for the transition to gaining his land legs in Storybrooke. O’Donoghue says, “You will recognize me. I can’t go into specifics but it’s an ‘80’s shell suit. It’s a nice little number.” Need a bit of a glimpse at a shell suit?

What do you think? Maybe it was the only option available at the Storybrooke thrift store. Hopefully he is joking, but it could be a great source of amusement for fans.

Thanks, E!

Once Upon a Time returns on September 28 with season 4, episode 1 “A Tale of Two Sisters” at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
