Once Upon a Time is bringing back Kristin Bauer van Straten for what appears to be a major storyline in season 4.

Disney’s latest features, both stories new and old, are all susceptible to Once Upon a Time‘s charming offers. Following in Frozen‘s footsteps, Maleficent will take on the second half of the season 4 story arc.

Now that True Blood is over, Kristin Bauer van Straten is free to return for a more prominent role on the ABC hit.

Maleficent’s return could mean nothing but bad news for Charming, Emma, and Regina. In the episode “A Land Without Magic,” Charming confronts Maleficent to find the creature who guards the Forbidden Castle. After transforming into a dragon and fighting both Emma and Charming, her dragon form is reduced to a pile of ash. But if she rematerialized, in CGI form once before, what is stopping her now?

Perhaps the most interesting side of the story will arise from the storytelling tool that drives Once Upon a Time, the flashback. Season 3 told the story of Peter Pan and his lineage of troubled male heirs during the first story arc of the season.

What does Maleficent have in store for her old friend Regina? Viewers will have to wait until Once Upon a Time returns next spring to find out!

However, there is still plenty of Frozen goodness to hold you over until then! Be sure to catch a sneak peek at the first footage from season 3, premiering during the ABC special “The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic” on September 2 at 8 p.m. on ABC. It will feature Anna, Kristoff, and of course, Elsa.

Thanks, EW.

Once Upon a Time returns with season 4, episode 1, “A Tale of Two Sisters” on Sunday, September 28 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
