The upcoming ABC fairytale drama Once Upon a Time was created by former Lost writers Adam Horowitz and Ed Kitsis – and the duo has now landed an iconic actor for a guest spot on the series: Mr. Widmore himself, Alan Dale!

TV Line can exclusively reveal that Dale will play the father of Prince Charming. Adam Horowitz says:

It’s a really pivotal role, and a pivotal part of the Snow White and Prince Charming story that we don’t think has been told yet.

So far, Dale is set to appear in one episode, but Horowitz hints that, “we’re leaving the door open for a larger tale to potentially tell with him.”

Look for more Lost nods in the show, too: in the pilot episode, we have learned that a clock will be stuck at 8:15 and that there’ll be a Geronimo Jackson bumper sticker! Plus, Damon Lindelof serves as a consultant on the new drama – it sounds like a recipe for success!
