Original: When Once Upon a Time in Wonderland took on the property, fans were left a bit disappointed. Once Upon a Time heard your cries and announced at Comic Con that Jafar, the Royal Vizier of Agrabah, will be making a come back along with the street rat, Aladdin. This time around Lost‘s Naveen Andrews was unavailable to return. In his place will be Oded Fehr of Criminal Affairs. Aladdin will be played by Deniz Akdeniz.

Fans at the panel were treated to the first three minutes of the new season which ended with the reveal of Aladdin. You can watch the clip here!

Since the realms of Storybrooke and the Land of Untold Stories are melding this season it is likely that the two characters will take come from a mixture of the Disney version of Aladdin and The Book of One Thousand and One Nights‘ tale of The Arabian Nights.

Once Upon a TimeWonderland does not bode well for continuity sakes, even if you push the casting aside. Will Scarlett’s character was teased to have a bigger role in the Once Upon a Time Storybrooke realm, but like so many other break out characters in the giant cast, his story was sacrificed for the needs of Camelot and beyond.

Aladdin and Jafar are the most recent additions to the casting news for season 6 that also includes Morpheus and the Count of Monte Cristo.

Once Upon a Time season 6 will premiere on ABC on Sunday, September 25 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
