Once Upon a Time boss Adam Horowitz tweeted the season 5, episode 5 title, “Dreamcatcher.” Does this mean Emma will revisit someone from her past?

Flashbacks are commonplace in a series like Once Upon a Time, which uses them more often than not. This means two things — never say goodbye to someone for good and always be ready to learn something new. They are a clever plot device and one that has worked well with the twisted narratives Once Upon a Time tends to spin.

After the tragic death of Neal Cassidy in season 3, fans waited around for another flashback to bring Emma’s first love back from the grave for even a fleeting moment. When Once Upon a Time co-creator Adam Horowitz tweeted the title of season 5, episode 5, “Dreamcatcher,” it seemed like those wishes were finally about to be granted!

Unfortunately, TV Line debunked the rumor mill today. Do not expect Baelfire to return in episode 5.

In the episode, “Tallahassee,” Emma finds a dreamcatcher in Neal’s apartment. The object remained closely connected to his character as the series continued always making appearances in his living quarters. However, Emma also used a dreamcatcher as a magical object without Neal present. That is the intention behind reintroducing the object back into the series, co-creator Eddy Kitsis confirmed.

A few more details about episode 5 were also revealed. Kitsis described it as “a very Emma-centric episode.” But do not expect to spend any time in Emma’s past. Horowitz continued to explain, saying, “The construction [of Season 5A] is different as far as flashbacks go. But we will be getting an Emma flashback in the early part of the season.”

Until we meet again, Bae…
