To Camelot! The season premiere photos for Once Upon a Time season 5 take fans away from Storybrooke and into the Enchanted Forest and beyond.
Arthur, Lancelot, Merida, and Emma are all present for the first photos of Once Upon a Time‘s fifth season. A little bit of training is in order for the latest initiate to the Dark One club. Emma Swan winds up in the Enchanted Forest, not coincidentally appearing on the stone marking the vault of the Dark One last seen in season 3. But how exactly does Rumpelstiltskin’s former self appear to offer some a new branch of training?
‘Brave’ additions
Merida, the first Pixar addition to the Once Upon a Time crew, makes her debut in the season premiere. Her story will pick up after the events of Brave and the fiery red-head will offer assistance to Emma who is trying to find her way to Camelot.

A new teaching method
At the close of season 4 Mr. Gold’s time was nearing an end. However, Rumplestilstkin appears alive and quite well in the photos from the premiere. The Dark Swan is going to need a mentor. Who better than the former Dark One?
Emma has other plans for her future and takes off in search of the one person who can put an end to the Dark One’s reign – Merlin. Along the way, however, keeping those dark urges at bay is something Emma is going to struggle with as the season progresses.

To Camelot!
The first images of King Arthur, Percival, and Lancelot appear to be in a flashback to the quest for Excalibur. Seeing as Lancelot died in his appearance in season 2, it is likely that we will only see him in flashback form.
