In a new interview, the Once Upon a Time showrunners answer big questions about season 4, the show’s future and returning characters.

Entertainment Weekly has released a fantastic new interview with the Once Upon a Time execs Adam Horowitz and Ed Kitsis.

It answers “burning questions” about various characters and plotlines, and we highly recommend reading it in full.

Among the gems we have the revelation that Emma (Jennifer Morrison)’s brief BFF Lily will be seen again. This is a relief, because it indicates that her flashbacks in last week’s episode wasn’t just a convoluted ploy to see the Snow Queen (Elizabeth Mitchell) on the video camera.

We’ll learn more about Emma’s past this season, presumably including her time at Snow 2.0’s house.

They also reveal that they “hope” to kill off a major character this season, whatever that means. Who do you think is most likely to go? Someone like Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) or Belle (Emilie de Ravin), since they’re newer additions, and not directly related to the core characters? Or would they do something major like off Regina (Lana Parrilla) or one (both, actually, since they’re sharing a heart now) of the Charmings? It’s hard to imagine the show without any of them.

When asked, “Is future Henry the author of the book?” their mysterious answer is “Not today.” Hmmm.

Finally they reveal that we’ll learn more about the house Belle found, and they’re hoping both the Red Queen (Emma Rigby) and Tinkerbell (Rose McIver) will be able to return. They also reaffirm that they know exactly how the show is going to end, which is always good to know.

Once Upon a Time returns Sunday at 8/7c on ABC with “Family Business.”

It is a Belle-centric episode, showing how her past intertwined with Anna (Elizabeth Lail)’s.
