In an exclusive clip from this weekend’s two-hour episode of Once Upon a Time season 4, Emma chooses to give up her powers for the safety of her family.

After last week’s interrogation disaster, Emma’s fear gets the best of her and she loses control of her magic, accidentally harming those who get too close. In the clip from this week’s episode, Emma decides enough is enough and seeks guidance from the only person in town she cannot accidentally destroy- Mr. Gold. But is he really her best option?

Watch below:

The trailer for this week’s episode shows Henry approaching Emma in her car. As the clip reveals, Emma’s magical outburst did more than cause a powerful burst of light, it hurt Henry. Ingrid’s obsession with Emma and Elsa’s strong emotional ties to their magic sparks an interesting question- What is Ingrid’s end game once she obtains her two surrogate sisters?

The full synopsis for this week’s Once Upon a Time reads:

“In Arendelle, when the Snow Queen tries to pit Elsa and Anna against each other and when it proves more difficult than she anticipates, she takes drastic measures. Meanwhile, in Storybrooke Emma’s powers are out of control and her fear of hurting loved ones pushes her away from everyone she cares about. In her confusion, Emma turns to Gold for help getting her powers under control. Gold tells her about a way to get rid of her powers altogether and Hook tries to put a stop to it. Meanwhile, Regina struggles with her plan to find the author of the storybook until her quest takes an unexpected turn. Robin Hood recruits Will Scarlet to assist him on a mission and Mary Margaret and David search for Emma.”

Last week viewers were given a taste of Will Scarlet and Robin’s second chance at friendship. It looks like we can expect to see Will’s storyline play out further this week. But what about Regina? Largely cast aside for most of the season thus far, the former mayor’s mission to find her happy ending will get some screen time during this week’s special!
