Sunday’s Once Upon a Time episode, “Family Business,” is a Belle (Emilie de Ravin) flashback.
We’ll discover how her past is linked with Anna (Elizabeth Lail)’s, and this is also the episode in which we’ll finally meet her mother.
TV Line has an exclusive sneak peek from the episode up on their website, in which Belle prepares to confront the Snow Queen.
In the clip, she explains to Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) that, “I have to fix a mistake I made a long time ago.”
She asks Rumple to come with her, and when he refuses (and proclaims that he’s not going to “let her” go, either), she tries using the dagger on him.

Gold is all shocked that she would betray his trust like that (glass houses, Rumple), and she apologises – “but if you won’t come with me willingly, what choice do I have?” Wow, these two make quite the pair, don’t they?
Are we buying that Belle would be so quick to turn around on Gold and use the dagger on him like this? It feels like there should at least be a conversation discussing the merits of going vs not going, a thorough rundown of the Snow Queen’s strengths and weaknesses, etc.
But we’re sure they had to cut that part of the scene out for time reasons.
It’ll be interesting to see whether Rumplestiltskin chooses to maintain the illusion that the fake dagger controls him, or if he’ll finally reveal the truth.
And if he does, then they can have a good laugh about how they’ve both been trying to manipulate each other, while eating the leftover wedding cake that must surely still be in the fridge.
