The Spell of Shattered Sight takes over Storybrooke this week on Once Upon a Time season 4, episode 10 and awakens the Evil Queen.

A special kind of darkness is waking up in Storybrooke as the Spell of Shattered Sight takes effect this week. As you may recall from last week’s episode the residents took every precaution to lock themselves away from each other and ensure their best shot at survival. But would an enchantment really keep the Evil Queen locked up if she wanted to be free? Judging by the stills from this week’s Once Upon a Time season 3, episode 10, the answer is no.

In a sneak peek from this week’s episode, Snow and Charming go head to head with their most biting comments. To them the comments reveal the darker side of their relationship, the early days when they used to capture each other in the woods, but their sparring comes off as comical rather than scathing.

Kristoff and David push the humor of the situation further, but it is Snow’s sudden twist against Anna that changes the mood of the scene. We all knew Snow had some darkness inside of her, but hearing her talk about Cora’s death sets the tone for her confrontation with Regina.

Synopsis: “Storybrooke is in a state of chaos with all the residents under the Snow Queen’s Spell of Shattered Sight at each other’s throats. Emma and Elsa race against the clock to free themselves of the ribbons and take down the Snow Queen and her curse. David can only watch when Regina clashes with Mary Margaret in an epic battle. Meanwhile, Gold gathers Belle and Henry as he prepares to leave town forever, and Will Scarlet looks to square his tab with Hook. Kristoff’s thick-headedness leads Anna to a heartwarming discovery.”
