Rumple spins his wheel making enough gold for Zelena to create a cast of his brain from the one activity proven to clear his mind. Now that she has David’s courage, Regina’s heart, and Rumple’s brain, her plan to escape fate is only missing the product of Mary Margaret’s labor across town.

Emma places a protection curse on the hospital room as a last minute effort to save her family. Emma sets out, reluctantly taking Hook along, to get Zelena herself.

Zelena watches her sister from the Emerald City, training herself through second-hand tips from Rumpelstiltskin.

Glinda arrives to thank Zelena for unmasking the true nature of the man the Emerald City once looked to as the Wizard for guidance. She places an offer on the table for Zelena to meet up with the sister witches and take up the vacant seat of the West. Love, wisdom, courage, all the witches bring something different to the central power of Oz. Glinda also serves as the keeper of the Book of Records. It foretold of a cyclone that would deliver a powerful sorceress to complete their table. Only, Glinda left out the bit about the sorceress being dethroned by another!

Glinda offers Zelena a pendant that will harness her power with that of her sister witches. Although her sisters have the ability to travel back in time, their top priority is building a better future. For now, Zelena is on board and enjoys the welcoming feeling that she cannot receive from spying on her blood sister.

In order to ensure that her plan succeeds in Storybrooke, Zelena takes Hook to a well and uses Rumple to hold him under water long enough to render him unconscious. Emma sacrifices her magic to revive Hook.

With Emma’s powers no longer posing a threat, Zelena marches through everyone in her path on her way to labor and delivery. No sooner is the baby boy in Mary Margaret’s arms that Zelena takes the newborn boy in her arms. Adding the latest piece of the puzzle, innocence, Zelena begins the spell to travel back in time.

David goes after his son, but not without help. Regina’s dark magic may not be able to defeat Zelena, but as Henry points out, she is capable of conjuring light magic. People are, after all, in charge of their destiny. Reunited with her son and her past relationships far in the past, Regina’s future is looking rather good. The light magic now resides with her.

Zelena cannot help but allow jealousy and her predisposition for evil to take over her instincts. In a fit of rage against Dorothy, Zelena confronts her near a well and conjures a ball of fire before her eyes. Scared of being at the receiving end of the flames, Dorothy throws a bucket of water at Zelena that turns her into a puddle.

Dorothy calls out for Glinda, who admires her bravery and admits that Zelena could never amount to anything more than her evil tendencies. As much as Dorothy feels welcome in Oz, she wishes to return home to Kansas. A trip down the yellow brick road holds the key! Once in Oz, Dorothy greets the wizard and is sent home with a click of her heels.

Once she is gone, the curtain drops to reveal Zelena. Did Glinda really fall as foolishly into the trap that Dorothy did to think a bucket of water could defeat her powers? Banishing Glinda to the North, Zelena’s rage only increases.

In the barn, Zelena’s spell is underway as the troops arrive to save the future. Regina and her comrades are quickly trapped by Zelena and Rumple’s combined magic, but Regina’s light magic manages to stop her in her tracks. Stealing her pendant and undoing all of the harm she has caused, Zelena is as good as dead in Rumple’s eyes.

Regina stops him from dragging her to her demise to remind him that heroes do not kill people. How many more lives will it cost to get what they want?

Regina visits Zelena in her cell to explain her decision to keep her alive. Zelena has one path as far as Regina is concerned. She can change her life for the better, or feel her heart crumble in Regina’s hands. Regina understands the pain Cora caused and recognizes that if evil is molded, good has an equal chance.

Rumple’s love for Belle not only ensures a marriage proposal, but also the trust of holding onto his dagger. After all, it is as good as having his heart! Before emotions can bubble up, Rumple appears at Zelena’s cell, revealing that he did learn one lesson from his father: follow the lady. Breaking his promise to Belle, Rumple steps into Zelena’s cells and stabs her with the dagger, fulfilling his promise to exact revenge for Neal’s death.

Emma may not have her powers back, but she tells Hook that she will not need them once she returns to New York. The look of despair that sweeps his face cannot be the only kicker to launch viewers into the season finale? Right?

Right! As Zelena drifts to the floor and disappears, a green aura leaves the pendant from Regina’s vault and heads to the barn, opening a portal to next week’s season 3 finale! WHERE ARE WE GOING?! Place your guesses below!
