Wicked is FINALLY here! Once Upon a Time returns tonight with the spring premiere “New York City Serenade.” Prior to the curse that sent Emma to New York with a clean memory, she spent nearly all of season 3 fighting Peter Pan in Neverland to save Henry. The second half of season 3’s arc will focus on another wicked creature for Emma and the residents of Storybrooke to face, the Wicked Witch.
What we know:
The hiatus may have been quite long, but it was certainly not quiet! Over the course of 13 weeks (yes, 13) numerous casting announcements, first look photos, and a few previews have given us a taste of what to expect in season 3. Here are a few tidbits to refresh your memory:
• Rapunzel is making her debut in the ivory tower. However, her past is not one of dancing in fields with frying pans.
• The younger Cora returns to the show, along with the dashing Prince Leopold.
• No Wicked Witch story is complete without an appearance by her counter part, Glinda.
• Two clips from tonight’s episode feature the first look at the gruesome flying monkeys and Hook’s chat with Emma in Central Park.
• And finally, how can we forget the biggest news of all. At the outset of the hiatus, show runners Adam Horowtiz and Edward Kitsis announced that someone will not live to see season 4!
Where we are going:
First things first! Hook needs to convince Emma to return to Storybrooke with him. You read that correctly, Storybrooke, ME has returned. When we last left the show, Emma and Henry were settled in their lives in New York, free of all things magic. Meanwhile, the rest of Storybrooke’s residents were transported back to the Enchanted Forest to begin life again without them. When Hook shows up at Emma’s door one year later, the questions began to bubble. Tonight, we will finally gain all the answers and catch a glimpse of Once Upon a Time‘s most wicked nemesis yet!
